Time for me to leave the forum now as a "poster" as the Golf has gone & I'm in the Nissan now.................. world of difference but at least no DPF cloud hanging over my head.

Enjoyed my time on here but will pop in from time to time as a reader only to see if VW do condescend to address this DPF fault plaguing the diesels.

    Cheers

Did you go for a petrol Qashqai? Hope it's better than a Nissan Juke. I had a rental Juke for 2 days whilst my Golf GT 150 TDi was being GTechniq prepped by a professional detailer. The Juke was absolutely hideous. Styling was awful, interior design terrible, noisey engine and it drank diesel at quite a clip. Plus it's got a DPF. Going back to my GT felt like driving a mini S-class Merc in terms of quality over the Juke.

Maybe all your problems were caused by calling your car a DTI not a TDi

Enjoy the Nissan, good luck with the Renault engine if its a derv, they're prone to chewing their big end bearings without hesitation

I can't believe someone would go from Volkswagen Golf to a Nissan Qashqai - unthinkable!

Why ever not? At least they won't have their high and false expectations of Golf ownership dashed and won't have to deal with **** dealerships anymore (all show and no substance).
And why keep on buying diesels for goodness sake?

Ha, ha the Juke certainly is a marmite car .......................... it's a petrol cvt by the way.

Only only real thing wrong with the Golf I had (apart from me getting DTI & TDI mixed up ) was the very real threat of a huge bill for DPF replacement & it's impact on fuel economy that was not covered by VW warranty or the lease company.
VW's response to my situation made me never want to buy any VAG product ever again (including the "clones") & that limited very severely my choice of cars & as I needed a bit of height for ease of access for my wife as well now, the choice becomes very limited.

The Skoda Yeti would have been a very good alternative but I was just so bloody sick of these arrogant dealers that think because they sell a "premium" brand they can dictate to their customers that it was a non starter.

I'm confused. If your opinion of VW as a company, and the cars they produce is so low, why do you own one?
