Firstly apologies for posting here but our main car is a golf mk6
I've posted this on the polo forum with several views but no replies ....

    VW Solutions
I'm in the process of buying a new Polo 1.4 Match, having got a drive the deal quote then emailed all dealers within a reasonable distance to get the best price.

The dealer is now offering me a PCP package which would gain a £500 VW contribution and 3 years servicing for £100, so £700 benefit.

They are telling me I can settle after 6 months so after fees it is a few hundred pounds free cash. But what's the catch? If something seems too good to be true then it usually is.
For now I've signed up but am tempted to cancel. I won't get to see the small print until I return next week to finalise the details.

I've contacted VW finance and they say I can pay up sooner so there's inconsistency there and nowhere I can read any small print. Often finance deals are front loaded such that inital payments only cover interest hence it could even work out more expensive that just paying cash.

Any experiences or thoughts on the subject appreciated,

    Thanks

I think someone else on the forum mentioned doing this, paying off the hp early and retaining the discounts, but can't find the post, I think it was an off topic post.
But they said they had done it with no problems.

    Thanks for the reply.

The confusion arose as VW and dealer were telling me slightly different things.

In practice I'll be getting £700 of benefit (£500 VW plus the 3 year's servicing for £100 instead of £300).

I can pay off in full after one monthly installment, so after a tiddly amound of interest and fees will be a few hundred quid better off.

Couple that with the free insurance for a year and driving a drivethedeal level price in the first place, the new price isn't much above a low mileage used.

This makes me feel a bit better as buying new is usually a good way of <removed>money down the drain. It's just that I wanted black with knight alloys.

ive done this im fetchin my car tomorrow 1.6tdi match 3dr reflex silver its bit of a fiddle but as long as you get your head around it its fine heres how it works, negotiate the best price you can first, if you go for the solutions with the final payment and then have to finance that the car costs a fortune, i signed for the solutions and this gave me the 1500 off, this isnt just off the retail price but off the best price you can get for the car in the first place, so the what car aim to pay was 17842 for my car take the 1500 off leaves 16342 plus you get 3 months free servicing, i pay 2 payments off the solutions then ring vw for a settlement figure this along with the first two payments comes to 16342, the vw dealers know all about this, ive got one piece of paperwork showing the figures if you keep the car 3 years on solutions, then some paperwork showing what the settlement figure is after two months its all fine it just means vw sell more cars anything else just ask

Sorry, but is this post a joke? There is a certain etiquette when writing in forums, isn't there? We should use capitalisation, punctuation and paragraphs to make your input readable.
I gave up after the first line or so.

    No insult intended.

    Thanks.

hope you enjoy the golf: our mk6 2.0 140 tdi se is a belter. Great performance and fuel economy too.
I've got a great deal on the polo too and am intending to pay off in full after only one payment as there is no minimum period to keep the agreement.
Obviously VW make a lot of money out of folk who keep the deal going so I'm not feeling at all guilty about cashing in.

At least with silver you wont have to worry about swirl marks in the paint. I've gone for deep black pearl and am definitely going to be using a cleaning regime as recommended on detailing world.

Fetched mine at 2pm everything ok except one of the doors was slightly out of line at the bottom 2 mins and they fixed it.

I filled it up at Texaco took £66 it was quarter full had to think about it as first diesel car ive had, all the menus are easy to work but i had a good start as Dat got same car 3 weeks ago so was messing with his, only thing im struggling with is the DAB radio its strange to set up keeps coming up D1 C1 or similar not sure what this is, think its only when your trying different stations to the presets anyone know it would be helpful, can se a big mug of tea at side of bed tonight with the manual under the pillow LOL.

Ive tried a bit harder with the spelling, punctuation etc for the 2nd or 3rd poster back who needs to get a life
