Hi, this is not so much a reply as a further query, as I just joined & am still futzing my way through the forum! I just picked a top-range Tiguan 147TSI, fully loaded with all the bits, & had the local dealer fit the PRemium car kit phone option with the RNS 510 (I'm in Australia, Sydney). This cost me a whopping A$2,450, I had no problem pairing my Nokia N96 to it (after reloading the latest N96 firmware to make it more stable), but it was the first one they have done (on any VW model), & all I got with it for instructions was a rotten download from VW Australia of a Touareg manual, with mistakes on the operating button symbols (it had all translated into ASCII codes!), a really poor performance from the company that brought us the Veyron! Anyway, my gripe was that after I had loaded up the 15-max voice tags through the combi-instrument menu for using the one-button voice control the "star" button shown on the graphic (the Touareg's MF steering wheel is slightly different from the Tiguan, but the "star" button's the same), pushing the button did nothing but mute the other media audio sources (radio or HDD/CD/SD card) did not activate voice control like the manual said it would for the Touareg. The dealer tried to get sense from VW Australia, no luck so far, & Googling it seemed to indicate that VW have not solved the problem yet, here or overseas, so I have a very expensive system that doesn't have the same functionality as the same-priced unit in the Touareg. I'm still waiting on a promised response from VWA, but it's very disappointing that this fitting is so problematic, & doesn't even get a decent Tiguan-specific manual with it. Anyone got any clues about this, or whether even the same kit is OK for voice control in other models, particularly the Passat, upon which platform the Tiguan is supposed to be based??? Admittedly this is the dealer's first fitting of this combo, & he even dislodged the video link for the rear view camera whilst fitting the Premium, which I had to diagnose for him & get it reconnected! Any comments would be more than welcome, but otherwise it's a fabulous piece of machinery.

on this "updated" list someone foun (the german one) it says that the Nokia 9300i communicator has rSAP but the bluetooth premium sistem in my passat cc wont even consider pairing with it...

so what does one have to do to get a normal a.i. not 5 year old phone to connect with the BTP?? are there patches available or something?

this is really ******* me off why the hell does this have to be so complicated my buddy just bought a brand new citroen c5 (hes a freak for the hydropneumatic suspension) and the bluetooth in his c5 works fine... why the hell does vw have to make this **** so complicated...

well, i know what you feel, i felt the same when i bought my CC.
after reading tons of forums i finally discovered the solution, for my case.

i use a PDA (HTC Dual Touch) and it didnt paired with the CC too.
i didnt wanted to get an old pairable nokia phone.

i found the SAP application for the PDA. after i instaled it and activated the CC found and paired with the Phone, now it rocks.

my wife has a regular nokia, it doesnt pair with the CC too, once i get time, i'll try to get the SAP application for the nokia.

try to contact nokia, there must be the SAP program to work in the non pairable nokias.

    regards
    Ricardo

yes but heres the problem: my 9300i communicator is listed as compatible on the official VW list for the BTP system... but the thing just wont work.. and its a company phone, its set us to automatically sinc our agendas and those of partners etc. so i cant just replace it

regarding the SAP program... ive never heard of one but its an idea ill dig into it a bit, see what i find

IN ANYONE HAPPENS TO COME ACROSS SUCH A PROGRAM PLEASE LEAVE A POST BEHIND AD BE MOST GRATEFUL

    regards

Hi, I might be stating the obvious, but I assume that you guys know the differewnce between the Premium & the standard Bluetooth car kits? It is not a normal kit, but operates on RSAP, which stands for Remote SIM Access Protocol, which simply means that it does not actually use your mobile for sending & receiving, but is actually a "phone" in itself, & uses it's own module to do the send/receive stuff. All it does is latch (via Bluetooth) into your phone's SIM card & use all the service procider's details & your contact number lists, which means all you see on your phone on the service side is a little "X", & you cannot use your phone (not even Bluetooth audio) whilst it's hooked in. Most of the older phones do not have this RSAP facility, so cannot be registered on the Premium system. Only the cheaper version of the VW kit does that, & is not a true RSAP setup like the Premium.
Hope I'm not telling you how to suck eggs, but not even a lot of the telco shops in Aiustralia understand the difference!

Meanwhile, I'm still trying to find out why the little MF sterirng wheel button ("star") on the Tiguan doesn't activate voice control like it does on the Touareg. Anyone got any clues?? VW are silent on the issue, but still charge the same A$2,500 for the damn thing as they do for the same kit in the Touareg. This Premium kit thing is certainly not VW's finest hour!

But wait, there's more. After the dealer fitted my Premium kit, as well as dislodging the RV camera video cable (which he fixed), I also noticed that when I select a music track from the HDD files, it does not automatically go to the audio screen displaying artist info, duration, time-to-go, etc., like I'm sure it did before they got their hands on it. Now I have to either press the "Media" button on the RNS510 display, or hit the "rewturn" touchscreen icon on the top right of the screen to see it. Can anyone tell me what happens when they select a track from the list? Does it auto switch to the track playing details, or am I imagining things? I fear that every time I go back to the dealer, I lose another bit more functionality that would otherwise be unnoticeable if I asn't such a pedant!
