When I was waiting for my C5 '06 A6 2.7tdi Quattro to be delivered I asked the salesman about window blinds. He said they were a factory fit item, only possible to spec them at build.

Now, not being a cynical sort, but still understanding that some dealer staff are better than others, I reckon that's a load of cobblers.

Has anyone got any info on the sunshade fitment, is it possible with the right kit?

i have retro fitted blinds to a8,i no longer have etka on my pc but you need the blinds and the door cards plus the upper trim with the blind hanger.Badger the parts department to have a look at etka for a full costing of the parts but if you wish the blinds to be automated then the cost would be high as well as the labour, consider a good window tinter for about £200 supplied and fitted.

Didn't even realise they were electric! Hmmm, see what you mean about the parts list growing, looks like one of those 'simple in thought but tough in practice' jobs.

Will take a look at tinting, it's just for little 'un though and I've never been a big fan of the 'limo' look.

You could always do what I have done and go with the oesunshades.com option which cover the entire window and can be taken out easily when needed.

I am pretty certain you can get Audi Manual blinds - I did for my A4 B6 which retract into a unit which bolts onto the top of the door card and then there are a couple of brackets for the clips to hook into.

Worked very well and get the sun away from baby very efficiently (I had both door and rear (manual blinds) - which is why in my A6 I am now having to get blinds as the precious one has a dislike for sunshine!). The downside is that for little one to look out the window she needed to grow a bit as it raises the door sill line - looks very neat and professional though. I got mine from e-bay from Bedford Audi I think, and side blinds were about £60 for the pair & about £80 for the rear.

I will let you know how good the oesunshades are when they arrive next week. Get reasonable reports and mean that they do not require any fitting so to speak...

Hope that helps... personally I much prefer blinds to tint, as sometimes you don't want a tinted view of the world permanently....

Cheers for the tip boltana. Lets see what you think of the oesunshades as like yourself I's rather stay away from tinting the whole back ends worth of glass.

Reckon I'll be trying those oesunshades; can't stand those rubber sucky things on the windows, they flap all over the place and always leave gaps for light to get in.

Whilst the oesunshades website absolutely sucks on its initial navigation, the products look extremely good.

I cannot manage to navigate anywhere on that website. Makes me want to throw my machine out of the window!

How did you manage to see the products? The idea sounds good but I wish I could see it.

    Thanks

    Dave

Got the sunshades delivered yesterday - very neat indeed, with clips which just push down the trim gaps so no permanent fixings required, and also supplied in rather a natty carry bag as well for when they are not in use (although I plan to have mine in 24/7/365).

Have not fitteed them yet, but certainly look exactly what is required.

On the fixing side of things, for the opening rear windows there are two clips top & bottom, and for the tailgate one clip for each half of the sunblind (left & right), the 3/4 windows apparently hold in on their own accord.

Hope to fit them tonight if I can get out of the office early! First impressions are certainly of a quality, tailored product - proof of course comes with use, but I am happy to have gone down this route.
