OK, so I found the leak.... not so much a leak. A snipped pipe. In the last photo, you see I angle it down, 200+ml of fuel poured out onto the floor. Quite evidently it's been done on purpose and it makes me question who the heck owned this car before me. Not happy at all. I was on the verge of taking it back to the place I bought it and asking them what the hell this is. If it sprays onto the manifold or something, it would ignite and I could be in trouble. It needs fixing asap really.

Anyway, this is where I need you expert Audi guys to help me out. Where does the pipe go? Is it a return pipe? It needs repairing asap, so I can drive (slowly) down to the local Halfords if need. HELP.

No luck tracing it and I was splitting part of the undertray so I've given up. Taking it a garage tomorrow and hoping they don't shove a massive fist up my rear end lol. I'll epoxy the split in the undertray after so no big deal

Taken it back to the garage I bought it off. I've been told by the independent garage that it's a surprisingly big job (as there's no return line) so i've taken it back to where i bought it. See what these guys say.

Ok, they've told me it's an overflow pipe..... And that they block them rather than clear them.

Apparently they leave the factory like that. Head against the wall moment!!

Sounds like cobblers, why would it leave the factory like that.

Well, I went and picked it up. They told me they'd spent 3 hours (at £45 an hour) on it and aren't willing to spend anymore time. They've told me it's either a blocked fuel breather or a knackered charcoal canister. They drew me a little diagram of how the fuel system works and claim there's a solenoid on the charcoal canister that can stay open?

Going need to spend probably a day on this. I think they're right, I don't think there's like a major fuel leak but I think the smell from the charcoal canister is causing the cabin to smell all the time.

I don't know if there's a cheap way of repairing the charcoal canister that anyone can recommend? I've seen aftermarket solenoids online but yeah, s bit lost and a bit stressed lol.

One thing to add, the guys working on it said when you remove the fuel cap there's a hiss (there is tbf) and this is a sign of a breather blockage.

Thought it may be that since you could smell it in car. If the canister isn`t venting, that will more than likely cause the pressure in the tank.
