Iphone 4s Phone Book

Hi all,

I have a 55 plate A6 S Line with what I believe to be the 2G audio system. It has bluetooth connectivity and a cradle for the phone in the armrest.

I can pair the phone no problem, can make and receive calls no problem, the only thing I cannot get it to do is display the phone book on the dash. I can see all missed and received calls.

I took it to my local dealer whose mastertech had a quick look at it. He reset the system on the centre console but could not explain why it would not display the phone book.

He recommended booking it in for diagnostics, but think its a bit steep at 65 quid just to have a look.

Anyone come across this before? Could it need a software update or could the BT module be shot.

Would welcome any feedback

my 4s works fine and displays the phone book

go into settings -> general -> bluetooth -> audi mmi -> sync contacts (make sure everything is enabled in the menu)

you could try de-pairing the phone from the car and the car from the phone and reconnect.

ill go out and check.

just been out and checked

works 100% mak sure your iphone ios is up to date

on first time pairing it takes a few minutes to download the phonebook so be patient

accessing the book - TEL -> Top left inner key -> Phonebook

What version of the MMI software is your car running? Is it the same as Chris?

i think the cradle just came with High, Mark.

Sorry - I mean what version number. If the OP is on an early release of the MMI software, it may not support the iPhone's address book?

Just a thought.

Ah - yes the OP mentions a software update so a update to 5570 might solve things if he's not on 5570 already.

If the BT module was fubared the phone wouldn't connect at all.

Thanks chaps, I'm leaning towards the car needing a SW upgrade.

How do I check what version I have?

From memory, press the CAR button, and scroll through the menu options until you see Version Information. I could be wrong, though - it's been over 3 years since I was in a car with MMI 2G.
