can anybody help me with a couple of questions please.

i have a knocking sound when i turn to the left, my local garage had a look and said its the front cv joints and boots.

the sound is only when i turn left, does both front joints and boots need to be done ?

secondly i want to make sure they put good quality parts on, Euro Car Parts sell GKN and Q Drive .does anybody know which is the better quality brand..

thanks to anybody who can help

A knocking cv joint when you turn left usually means the outer right joint is worn. Not both.
This is a rule of thumb and not a guarantee.

As far as I know. GKN supply/supplied the CV joints to VW. strangely I have found aftermarket GKN boots to not last as long as the original VW ones lasted. So probably worth spending a few quid more at the dealers, for the boots?
