Rear Electric Window Problem

My 1998 A4 avants rear electric window has a intermittant fault that in it
sometimes bangs on startup meaning its trying to go up(its closed)! a flick of the switch and this stops, is this the switch or controller or what ?

A couple of weeks ago I had this on my lorry and basically it was as I had just washed the vehicle and water had gone through a poor window rubber seal and on into the switch
I appreciate that you have an Audi and not a Daf low loader but maybe worth a thought
