    Default losing power – 23-05-2010,12:33 PM
    I've got a tdi Golf and I have noticed that if I drive for some time over 70mph it loses power. Interesting that if I accelerate very gently I can get over 70mph without losing power but as soon as I step up slightly harder it happens. Other never happens below that speed and if i stop and switch off the engine 5-10 minutes the power usually returns. I had a similar problem when the air flow meter failed a couple of years ago but then I could not accelerate over 50mph.

    have you had the car plugged in to see if there are any fault codes? where do u normaly buy your fuel from? it could be the varible vain turbo is carboned up, this happens if you use a lot of supermarket diesel, id plug it in first and see if that throws anything up, hope this helps mate
