Does anyone know the correct procedure for resetting the dual zone climate control system on a C5 A6 Allroad? Mine is cooling the air fine (after a regas) but the driver's side is failing to mix the air correctly i.e. it's always warmer than the passenger side despite being set to the same temp.

When I tinker with the temps it sometimes fools the driver's side into more cooling but I think the calibration is out or something.

I want to try a reset to see if that corrects things before messing around with dampers and motors etc. but not sure exactly how to do it via VAG.com.

Go into "08 auto HVAC", then "basic settings" and then "group 001", click "go" and you will hear the motors moving about. There is also an output self test. Before you start, check for fault codes and then print off any that are there before clearing them, if the same codes return, the relevant flap motors will need replacing.

you don't need to set temp to 'LO'
just press the auto, so as Peter says you loose the ECON light.

set the temp to what you would like the cabin at, say 20 degrees.

Air con will come on till cabin temp reaches 20 degrees, and then switch off.
Fan speed will vary dependant on how far from desired temperature you are.

You have full climate control, so it is automatic. Cheaper to run than straight Aircon, and much more civilised

Anyway - back to my original problem...!

Tried a couple of things - disconnected battery to reset ECU. No improvement. Got specialist to take a look yesterday and for some reason the climate control module wouldn't allow interrogation?? Also had to have a regas as the level was low (despite regas 2 months ago...) - prob leaking somewhere or didn't get the full regas last time.

Seems to be much better but of course weather is cooler - we'll see.

Anyway - I'm aware I can replace the CC module but have been told the part number ie last two letters must match exactly? Anyone know if this is true? Or can I just get one off ebay for a C5 A6?
