    hiya chaps im about to change oil/filter on audi coupe 16v ace engine it sounds a bit noisey on top end not like a tapping but more like a diesel engine can any1 tell me whitch oil would be best 121000 miles btw to drownd out some of the noise also could the noise be coming from the manifold that goes over engine thankyou

    I'd go with vw spec 502 10w/40 semi synthetic thats what i put in my 8v
    comma eurolite is the main one i use not to expensive.

    There is an additive by wynn's called hydralic valve lift consontrate that you can add to the oil you can get it in most good car shops i.e halfords,wilco etc.

    Avoid additives, most are a waste of time or even harmful to the engine.

    A semi synthetic oil may well quieten the engine as they are usually good at absorbing sound although for the best protection and sound reduction, someting like the Millers CFS would be the way to go.
