I wonder if I could get some advice on changing alloys on my 2000 W reg Passat estate.

My alloys have delacquered and need replacing. Their specs are 6Jx15, 45 offset; tyres are 195/65r15.

I've bought a set from ebay- I think they came off an 03 A4. Their specs are 7Jx15, 39 offset; tyres are 195/65r15.

I think that both sets have a 5x112 pcd. I'm hoping that I can do a straight swithover and that the increase in rim width (from 6J to 7J) and the decrease in offset (from 45 to 39) won't be an issue or cause any accelerated wear.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks

    THIS calculator may help.
I came in to this world with nothing and I've still got most of it left.
