    Hi i have a MK4 1.8T GTI Golf

The blower controls all work as does the air con, but when the system is not on recirculation mode it sounds like a filter if blocked/jamed up and even on full power only a wisp of air comes out, switch it back to recirc and its fine but eventually the car steams up.
Any ideas of filter location or could it be something else?

    Any help appreciated

    Regards
    Dave

The cabin air comes in through the pollen filter, which is located on the passender side, under the wipers. Access the filter by unscrewing the 4 screws, easing out the tray, unclip the filter's holder and slide it out to remove.
