morning everyone its been awhile

i was driving home last night and the alternater warning came up on the dissplay from then on it was juddering , 6 miles later it cut out ,i had it towed back home and stuck it on charge overnight , i thought it would of started .

any ideas thanks

This same thing happened to me. The Alternator pulley had sheared off resulting in a replacement.

the alturnators have a clutch in them to allow it to free wheel, these sieze up for a past time which will after a while bugger the alturnator, there is a place near me that replaces the clutch for £40 inc the part so there must be others around
