Hi,
Recently had to have the crankshaft sensor changed as engine was cutting out at temperature.

This cured the issue, but now my rev limiter is kicking in at exactly 5000rpm. (Which really bounces the car on the motorway!! Ouch)

I am not getting any codes of the engine either.

This is a 2000 model A6 2.7T.

I have three theories:
1. The crankshaft sensor is wrong model and is throwing the calc on limiter
2. It's coincidental and something else is wrong, in which case what alters the limiter.
3. The mechanic caught or damaged something installing sensor

Any help or ideas greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Danny
