The Econ light on my A4 stays on, can't switch it off.

I have checked the fuse and it's ok.
i guess it's either a case of regassing, or faulty sensors.
i should get my cable from Gendan this weekend so i can check to see if it's giving a fault code.
anybody be able to recommend good independent to regas or change sensors in harrow or slough area?

    thanks

ok so in the lower left corner is the a/c button (the snowflake one)
the reason i'm asking this is because this button enables the a/c for me.
lets say i just started the car so everything is off (a/c, fans, everything)
    1. now if i press AUTO then the snowflake button automatically lights up and the a/c is on. after that if i press the snowflake button then i assume the a/c turns off because the light turns off.
    2. but if i press the + or - on the right side of the pannel (the ones under the fan level lcd) then the climate control starts on manual and the snowflake button does not light up.
is it true that the a/c uses fuel? i mean if i set the temp level to 22 and there are only 20 inside the car then the climate control will blow hot air. so that means that the a/c does not have to be on so you can turn it off to save fuel.
but if in summer time you set the temp level to a lower temp then the climate control will blow cold air and the a/c is on because the refrigeration system it is needed to cool the air so now it uses fuel. right?

the econ switch is facelift models
so turning off snowflake is the equivilent i.e better economy if a/c is off

you should still run it occasionally as it lubricates the system so hopefully it will work ok when you do need it
