    Hi

Am very close to getting an a4 avant 2.0 tdi 09 plate, and just wanted to see if people have found the offset pedals to be a problem ie causing back problems etc? We took one for a test drive and didn't notice a problem, but i wanted to know if there was an issue after doing long distances?

I mentioned this to the salesman and he said as I was quite tall and had the seat quite far back then the angle at which i was sat to the pedals is v minimal, but my other half who is 5'4" might have a problem with her being closer to the wheel. So any people who are that height i would like to hear their thoughts!!

    Cheers

    Hi Roc1,

I'm 5'10" and in the 12k miles I've covered in my A4 I haven't found this to be an issue, the car is very comfortable and because the seat and steering column are infinitely adjustable it is easy for anyone to get comfy imo.

A bigger problem for me is my feet - the left foot rest is in the correct place but I can't find anywhere to plant my right foot when I'm using cruise control (which is nearly all the time on long runs). I end up squeezing it between the brake and accelerator and that works OK, its just not ideal, a right foot rest would be the perfect solution.

    Hope this help!

    Cheers

I havent noticed any off-set in the pedals. Maybe thats because my old BMW had more off-set in the pedals - anyway, I've never found it a problem in either car.

Not noticed the offsets either, and I've just come from an 07 3 Series. Lack of footrest a bit weird but not really an issue, there is still enough room to rest my size 12's left of the clutch pedal.

I don't find it an issue, apart from lack of foot rest for right foot which is annoying when using cruise.

Hi, I'm 6' and my wife is 5'2" and neither of us have experienced any problems. Have had my A4 for a couple of months and we both agree that it is a really comfortable way to travel. Good luck with your decision.
