thanks for the reply. do you think the incorrect ecu is tryingto be matched up then? the ecu was ordered by the indy you see and not the dealers. like i said crasher said the original unit was replaced after production. im going to call the dealers today and see how i get on.

just out of interest - what prices you charge to clone the ecu? and also will there be issues if the older ecu is cloned to a newer replacement? (the new replacement having a different ecu number)
I don't think that it's an incorrect ECU necessarily, but cloning your old ECU to the new one shouldn't be a problem at all as I can do a 1:1 clone.

there are quite a few ecus that have been superceeded with different part numbers ,thats probably the only difference in the ecu . as for the ecu cloning shark .

could you do me a favour ?

look up both ecu numbers i have and see if there compatible for a clone ?

like i said i can get a full bdm read from a 03G906016FF (although 03G997016LX is a superceeded part number)
and i have at the moment 03G906016G

sorry dont have both bosch numbers, FF one is 0281 011 905

your not that far away from me at all . could get the ecu cloned and re-adapted to my original clocks at the same time .

as for the little p**** who decided my ecu was useless he is supposed to be contributing to the cost of a replacement i just feel like letting the jack down on the car hes working on at the time

save me alot of stress .
