As I was driving along a country lane today I hit a low flying duck, unfortunatley neither the duck or the lower front grill (the bit below the bumper) survived.

Has anyone got experiance of replacing this grill, is it something I could do myself or a job for a dealer? I assume it just clips in but any tips would be much appreciated.

Side ones pop out, drivers side has a small screw in it, not sure about the other side, if it's the centre one I've not had a gander yet, but I suspect it will push out from behind if you take the sump protector off 1st, hth.

I think there's a screw on the underside to release it - try parking half up on a kerb and have a look..

Remove top front grille. 8 hex screws on top and two at the bottom (easier to see if you lie on your back and look up). Will require a little pulling to get it free from the bumper at the sides

Lower grille has clips all the way round it. Get a flat head screw driver and gently try and work each clip free. I recommend working from the top right corner, along the top, then it should come free at the bottom. You can be forcefull as the clips are sturdy bu**ers!

Sorry to hear that. I had a simular story with a pigeon but this resulted in the pigeon robbing my VW badge
