Five strange noises

Hi all,
At irregular times whilst driving I get five distinct noises that appear to come from the front left ( passengers) side of the car. The noise is spaced about one second apart.
In military terms ( Signals) there is a term SQUELCH, this is the type of sound. A short, sharp static like noise. The radio may or may not be on and I do not believe the noise comes comes via the sound system. There is no alteration to performance, VCDS does not indicate anything, just always five short blasts ( very intriguing).
Audi A4B8 2010 2.0L T quattro.
Any thoughts would be most welcomed

Just updating my last. The noise is coming through the speakers.
Is anyone aware of any engine electronic / electrical action or monitoring that may be causing this momentary interference.

on the mmi, you can set up which speaker the telephone comes through - would be interesting to see if it is set to front left?
