Hi, might seem like a dumb question but i (pretty) sure i have a manual roof audi cabriolet, near the handbrake the only switch is one that drops all the windows. when i open the drivers door there is a rubber button where they door catch is, is this the button to release the parcel shelf catches? Since ive had the car ive been lifting the flaps and lifting the catches one after the other but read that this switch releases them and pops open the lid. When it press it all i hear is a clicking noise coming from the boot nothing else happens. ive tried to lock the boot first then messing about with the switches etc but keep setting the alarm off!! any help much appreciated!

    Hi. Yes basically.

You're supposed to turn the ignition key to 1st position a few of the dash lights should be on,
then turn the handle of the roof, the windows go down a bit,(the convertible light should light on the dashboard), then lift roof to halfway position, then press the button and the roof compartment lid should pop open. All the noises from the back is the locks locking the boot so you can't open it while the roof lid is open.

I'm in the middle of troubleshooting my own roof compartment lid, because the button isn't working. I've got a fault code reader thing which is suggesting a switch somewhere isn't working, in the boot lid somewhere!
