Windscreen washer problems

I have a 09 2.0TDi which suffers from some intermittent problems with the windscreen washer/wipe function.

Firstly sometimes the blades will just wipe with no water being ejected, washer tank full and above 5 deg C.

But yesterday it would do nothing. I pulled on the arm 20 -30 times and neither the washer or blades would operate. The single function and normal wiper blade function was ok.

Then suddenly without any intervention the blades did a couple of wipes and then stopped.

After this the washer/wipe function has operated normally.

Are there known problems with the washer/wipe function that a visit to the dealer would be able to sort out?

It sounds like a washer relay problem to me, which the dealer should be able to resolve quickly given the symptoms.

There's no such thing as a wiper relay on modern Audi's, you wouldn't believe how many control units & communication systems are used to operate the wiper & washers, ie wiper switch, steering column control unit, can signal to on board power supply control unit & lin signal to wiper control unit!

Your fault could be any of the above, take it to your local dealer, they should sort it.

check your hood switch....if this switch is playing up, than your wipers wont work.....
