Hi All
The car is Nov 2001 1.6S 16v ( AZD ) 63000mls.
Had her in for an oil change recently, when I got her back the mechanic said the clutch was getting lazy all the way up. He said it wont just pack in, rather it would slowly get worse with the bite point getting lower.
He said if I want it done, it would be £303 fitted, or £300 for both clutch and flywheel and £120 to fit both.
On this forum, I was told the clutch may be on the way out if the bite point was longer or near the end of it's travel. I am confused !!!
I checked it the other day, put the handbrake on, put her into first and let the clutch out. It didn't appear to be slipping and the car didnt conk out.
In an ideal world, I would like to replace just the clutch when I feel it is about to die and not worry about the flywheel.
What do you guys think ?
