    hi guys
    i am looking 4 an engine 4 my audi a8 4.2 40v engine code AQF
    the cam belt has gone & after removing the heads, theres no oil in the top of the engine so possibly the oil pump has gave way
    any help wud b greatly appreciated
    becos of the cost of stripping the engine & rebuilding i'm looking @ replacing the engine, might b a cheaper alternative if i can locate 1

    its a 1999 t reg with 110k
    the belt looked ok but there was no oil in the top of the engine
    cud b oil pump failure but that remains 2 b seen
    i'll try those sites & see if i have any luck
    but ts like trying 2 find rocking horse ****

    Like i said stef there aint meny about,it looks more like a rebuild but dont worry there strong donkeys.Read this about the old valves and how to dispose of them. Important
    Worn sodium-filled exhaust valves cannot simply be scrapped. They must be cut in two with a metal saw between centre of stem and valve disc. They must not come into contact with water when this is done. Then throw the valves into a bucket of water (not more than ten at a time). Then step back because a chemical reaction occurs when the sodium filling burns. Following such treatment, the parts can then be handled as normal scrap.

    Also good old Ebay sometimes has them too.

    Depends how far you want to go with it really?

    Post up the full spec of your car and ill ask for you, a mate as a few A8s in

    tryed ebay & there was 1 on there but it from an older 1
    just my luck!
    its a cracking car if only i can get it running!

    not been stripped yet, was waiting 2 see if i cud locate whole engine
    been putting off telling him 2 make a start
    might have 2 sell my body!
