    Hi,

    My 2000 A4 Avant's trip computer has gone all grainy - it is still visible for priority symbols but the extras are hard to read. I took it to a local garage and they said to fix/buy new is more than the car is worth?

    Is this true? Any thoughts?

    around £400 new i think
    cluster contains immobiliser so keys need programming and ecu linking in as well as general recoding

    you can try this but doesnt make much difference

    or there are companys that can just repair screen

    or what i did if you can code keys or no someone that can, keep an eye on ebay for new old dealer stock items, i got new clusters for both my a4's for £60 + £90

    on my 1999 2.5tdi there has been a few lines out on my display for months, this week it decided to stop completely, so now i have a blank screen, if i take it to pieces as descirbed in that linc will it fix it or am i wasteing my time would any one know??

    does 'ok' show on start up?
    if so you might of turned it off by accident, reset button under stalk is also an on/off switch
