Hi there,

My wife's having problems with her Passat 1.8 20v (S reg, 120k miles). It's an intermmitent problem. Basically you'll pull away ok, but when you put your foot down it just seems to hold back for a second or 2, almost as if you can't drive & you've nearly stalled, then it goes fine.

I have changed the air & fuel filters, but this did not fix it. So we got our VW mech out for a look & the throttle body was throwing up a fault. Mr VW mech said that it was probably not the throttle body, but the air mass meter. There was also a small split in the vacuum hose between the throttle body & the fuel pressure regulator. Both of these have now been changed, but its still doing it.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Robin
