    505.01 is fine. it's just not a long life oil. 507.00 is suitable for both petrol and diesel and is a long life opil which replace every 10K miles

    Oh, OK then I'll stick with the the 507 as I intend changing every 10k miles anyway. What are your thoughts on using engine flush at each oil change as I have seen garages do ? Also would you risk a 'Halfords own' oil filter or go for genuine Audi having spent so much on the oil ?

    I have a 1955 Sunbeam S8 bike and it doesn't have an external oil filter and wont take multigrade oils so I've done a fair bit of web research regarding engine flushing. Whilst it is essential for an old bike like mine the consensus seems to be that its pointless or even harmful with a modern engine.

    I put vapsoil 5w30 on my 2.5 tdi. Vapsoil 507.00. Is good for now.
