Hi, sounds similar to problem i had when i first bought my GT TDI 150, reallly noticeable noise and worse still when its the offside arm as you can literally feel it in through the feet.

Turned out to be the main/rear bush on the lower arm/wishbone, cannot change the bush as it is welded to the arm so easier to replace the whole arm, these are cheap and easy to replace.

The link arms from the the front ball joint arm to the anti roll bar are a possibility or the anti roll bar bushes that bolt to the subframe are also common.

    Hi Jacko,
As previous post. Check wishbones (front). Get a prybar or large screwdriver and give it a good wiggle, there should be little or no movement, the large bush bolts in vertical, the small one horizontal. Did both mine last weekend (GT TDi 150). It is possible to fit harder compound Audi ones, but save the hassle and just replace whole arm. I paid £64 / pair inc ball joints for both arms, from local factors. Beware of cheapo Chinese crap on fleabay.
Mine were shot, not too bad for 128K though. Simple to change, just 4 bolts and its out.
    Cheers
