oil pressure?

ive got a dreaded blb 2.0tdi 2005. 67000 miles ago oil pressure light came on took it to audi dealer and was told needed new engine as oil pump drive mech faild.last night oil pressure light came on again is there anything else that can cause this.as car only done 127000 and already on second engine.

Oil light came on but you dont mention the outcome? still runs sweet, rattles, or is it seized?
Yes, other things can cause it such as faulty switch, or wiring.

can you clarify what you are saying , it appears you said you had the oil pump fault at 67000 miles and that now at a magnificent 127000 miles your engine failed. At what point did the second engine go in ?

how long ago was the engine fitted and was it fitted by audi are all services up to date and was the correct oil used ?

engine sounds ok just low oil pressure light came on again been useing fully sythetic pd oil service every 10000. engine was fitted oct 2008 by main dealer just in panic moad because had to pay 2600 for new engine last time.

if it was audi who supplied and fitted it im 99% sure you have 2 years warranty on parts and labour so if thats the case and its something related to your new parts you need to go see the service manager where the work was done armed with your proof of servicing and take it from there it may be worth getting the oil pressure checked first incase it is the pressure sensor or wiring as it will be cheaper at a good indie than at audi as i doubt they cover sensors for more than 12 months so you would get a bill if it turns out to be just that
