Hi, i currently run an A4 2.0 TDI (CR) 143 Bhp and am interested in this Bluefin handset to get an instant mild remap. Has anyone tried this? Thoughts? Opinions? I am a bit concerned about the loss of my Audi engine warranty and any increased wear/damage to the gearbox/clutch through increased torque etc.

Any comments appreciated. I dont want a firebreather but just a gently tuned car!

I looked into this and the hike in insurance premiums put me off. Some insurance companies don't mind remaps but I found them to have higher prices any way. The cheapest quote I got for a remapped car was twice that of the cheapest for the standard spec. So not worth it in my opinion.

    I would say yes....

My Insuranse company wants £27.00 increase in premium for either a Bluefin or Spider which I feel is pretty good.

I know a propper job is the best way forward but the turning box/handset route is more appealing to me and I have never seen any really bad feedback.

Prob at the mo is that nothing is available for 2010MY as Bosch has added some gubbins to prevent, although I am sure in time those that know will by pass.

I would have prefered a 170PS but that as we know is not available with Multitronic, so for me I would have had to jump to a 2.7 which I didnot really want to do.

I'd say definitely. my insurance was due for renewal so I added Bluefin and swapped companies and my insurance went down.

For the price and ease it is great. You will not lose your Audi warranty, it will only be if the remap causes the issue.

The remaps are all in the safe limit of the components, more power could be got out but at the risk of damage to components.

Thanks! What dol you mean when you say that Bosch hav e added something to the latest cars to stop remaps? I have the '10' reg A4 with stop start so pretty recent. Can you explain!?

The local (slightly dodgy) car tuning garage says they do not recommend Bluefin as with natural output variation from engine to engine, you could in theory tip a naturally high baseline performing car beyond the torque limits of the clutch etc with a std, non tailored re-map?

There is at present no Bluefin or Spider available for 2010MY 2.0 T or TDI engines.

That was what both companies advised 4 weeks ago when I made enquiries.

I believe the engine can be mapped but not by plug and play

So what is everyone paying for insurance? For my 1.8T (160) SE its only £240 for the year but if I put remap in that jumps to well over £400 for the year.
