I have done a search but little info on this - if any. (2.5 TDI Auto)
I was faffing around removing my airfilter and disconnected my MAF sensor plug. I then ran the engine to see if it ran better/worse with no sensor connected.
No difference at idle so i reconnected and put everything back.
Next morning put into gear and it jerked into gear - oh s**t. Then went into reverse and same thing. I thought the gearbox was toast.
My trusty auto gearbox man put me straight by indentifying that i had reset the engine management system with no MAFF so it was misreading info and raising the pressure so jumping into gear.
I learnt elsewhere that things can be reset by turning on the ignition and walking away for 10 minutes. (no reset by VAG or disconnecting battery kerfuffle). Well it reset fine and is now as it was. Another lesson learnt.
If you guys already know this great but i did search hereinabouts.

Can't wait for the next installment.
