Want to fit a external cd changer to my mk5 golf. Dont really want the expense of changing the arm rest to the one that fits a changer.

Do as the title says, are the older boot mounted changers compatable with the mk5 stereos.

I currently have the RCD 500 system, but will be fitting a MFD2 sat nav system soon.

    Any ideas?

Yes, they are. Just make sure you get the correct cable to fit the Mk5 radio.

The boot mounted changers are still fitted as standard on Touaregs, so they should work OK with the newer radios.

    Jim.
