Have turned on notification chirp when locking/unlocking doors with remote, is there a code to change chirp to horn sounding, or different sound, as its a bit quiet in noisy areas?
    Thanks

I don't think this is possible, only way to make it sound louder is by adding a NEW, more powerful alarm speaker. You could also plug up a horn instead of the alarm speaker but won't recommend it as you don't want your car sounding silly.

    Cheers for the reply
Its just a while ago I stumbled across a thread on a forum where some guy implied it could be done through coding.
Probably cheaper to buy a hearing aid then!

If the alarm is original then it could possibly be set.

I am about to fit an alarm that is made for golf mk5 and works off the original immobilizer, the guide states that the horn can be used instead of a siren.

do you mean all the alerts are wired through the horn instead of the siren, ie the siren is disconnected? Or there is some info in this guide as to code notification chirp through horn instead?

There are 2 options for the alarm that i am going to fit:

Option 1: wire the alarm to the horn instead of siren.

Option 2: wire the alarm to siren....

Option 1 is there because i might not currently have the siren, obviously i will be buying one.

    In byte 16 (vcds)
Bit 4 is unticked and is "Alarm siren installed"
bit5 is unticked and is "Siren tone Type" 0=frequencymodulated/1=intermittent
bit7 is unticked and is "Siren alarm type" 0=10 tamper alarms/1=1 tamper alarm

So can anyone please shed any light as to what these settings actually do and how come bit 4 is unticked?
    Many thanks
