Hi i bought a new Polo 1.9 Tdi about 11 months ago, the dealer told me the first service is necessary between 15000 and 45000Km after i asked him a couple of times, i'm now on 7100 and when i insert the key in the ignition a spanner symbol comes up and 7900kms, does this mean i am due for the first service? i'm sorry to bother you all but I cant consult my handbook as its in German and I currently live in Luxembourg and although my car dealer promised to order an english one for me it hasnt turned up!

Hi, does the spanner sign stay on all the time the engine is on, or does it dissapear after a moment or two? I'm just guessing, but it could be a countdown till the first service... 15000 - 7100 = 7900. Keep a watch on the 7900 and see if it goes up or down as you use your car.

yes it goes off once i start the engine..i booked in the first service so it should disappear after that, no luck with the manual, and i thought customer service was bad in malta,,,,,i actually had to chase this guy to sell me the car! thanks for the reply
