I'm hoping someone can offer some guidance....

I'd picked up my new 2010 A3 Sportback yesterday and loving the car. Well chuffed with it.

Now I had 2 pairs of RING Xenon MAX H7 bulbs to replace the dipped \ main beams and set about this morning to swap the OEM halogen bulbs with the RING bulbs.

Audi wouldn't perform the bulb swap for me pre-delivery as the main service guy advised he ONLY fits Audi genuine parts ......so would not assist.

So I have opted to do this myself but I cannot get the passenger side dipped bulb back in place, the other bulbs were done and working great but I'm stuck with 1 bulb which is so flippin awkward to twist back into it's seating and my fingers and knuckles are in bits .

Does anyone have any experience of swapping bulbs on a A3 Sportback in particular the passenger side dipped bulb

I'm now faced with taking the car back to Edinburgh Audi servicing as it stands and seeking a techies help cos I simply can't get the bulb fitment to twist back in place as I'm wondering if other engine parts need to be moved to fit the darn thing .

Never thought bulb swapping would prove so troublesome, can't imagine if I was stuck in the middle of nowhere and found a bulb had gone and needing swapped. Seems almost impossible

    Hi
I Have just replaced both my headlamp Bulbs with Osram Cool Blue
I have replaced bulbs a lot worse than the A3

Have a look at the service book it showes you the angle you need to fite the bulb

    1) make sure the peg is in the right position before you push the bulb up

"I used a small dental type mirror as for some reason the passenger side did seem more difficult even though you have more room "

I suspect it has not sat in square and that is why it will not push up into position

Remove it have a cuppa and try again ?

    Best of Luck

Cheers for the info mate..........I tried, tried and tried again today and almost gave up and thought I was back at the Audi dealership. Felt such a wally cos I can't pop a bulb back into place

But thankfully I got hold of a very very helpful bloke from an independent audi service workshop who managed to do what I couldn't by loosening the headlamp unit a tad and the troublesome bulb twisted back into place after about 15mins fumbling about with angled mirrors to help see the fitment.

I'll not be swapping the bulbs out again any time soon so just need to get some miles on my new A3 Sportback now

Had a Civic before but the A3 is miles ahead of what I've been used to, I'm well chuffed

Glad you got it sorted !!!!
I suspect it may have been a oversize pip or somebody had forced a bulb in at onetime bending the location.
Semm funny that side was more dificult on mine ?
At least the Audis just have a push in system " You should try the Fords with the Spring Clip
