Audi are refusing to repair Clutch under warranty. Thoughts?

There was no goodwill !

Audi said the clutch burnt out after 37'000 miles due to wear and tear, and it was not their fault. It was not covered under warrantly.

They said that to contest it, we would need an independent mechanic or someone from the trade to give an alternative view as to why the clutch burnt out, but Audi were adamant that it was through wear and tear.

We didn't challange it, and we are going to pay, of course.

Has anyone else known of an Audi clutch wearing out after small mileage, due to bad driving or otherwise ?
Has anyone ever been aware of a clutch being replaced under warranty ?

This is not relevant for b7 as we know why b8 needs a clutch and its a defect where as this case appears to be a operator error.
As I have explained clutch failure is covered if its consequential, your issue will be the input shaft has scoring on the shaft and as the spigot bearing will also be damaged and the clutch assembly is part of the flywheel for 8k platform you need a clutch/flywheel as well as either a repair/replacement of the gearbox

The total cost of repair came to €1650 which by today's exchange rate comes to ~ £1400. The garage said they had knocked off €500 as "a gesture of goodwill"....even with that discount I'm sure they made a nice cut for themselves. The Audi is back with my mother and, although she has always rejected that her driving style caused this failure, she has agreed to focus more on her gear changes from now on!
