Have finally found a tuner to remap dpf out of my 56 plate a4 170.
I removed the dpf myself as wasnt willing to pay £1000 to a few companies for doing the job. Dave at Rapid Remaps of Cannock did a Remap and dpf delete. I now own a totally different car.
    8 - 10 MPG Better,
    So much more torque,
    Alot smoother all round.

D'you mind telling us why you wanted the DPF off? I have done similar as it was end of life and made the car run dog rough half the time. Did you make a new downpipe or just cut open the original?

How long did it take you to find a tuner? We do DPF-off even for the CR engines.

Does anyone know if there are any legal issues in removing the DPF?

I phoned various companies out of performance vw magazine, some said they could do dpf removal remap if i took out guts out of dpf. Two well known companies would only do it if i had them cut up old dpf and refit it (for a hefty fee). I am a welder fabricator so i knew it would not be a problem to do and my mate owns a garage.

Did you smash out the insides on the dpf or did you make a new pipe, if you did a new pipe would you make another and maybe sell it

Please do not bother with Rapid Remaps it didnt work after a month and when he took map out he wouldnt refund. I took the dpf off the car at a mates garage and cut hole in it, smashed the insides out, rewelded and re fitted. Give Ben a ring from MAS Performance on 07834 879320, he makes a replacment pipe and maps out the dpf it is better than the map I previously had in. He has his garage at skipton but if you do it yourself he will meet you halfway.

Spoke to this chap and he won't just supply the pipe. I can easily fit a removal pipe my self and get it mapped my self as well so just need the pipe. Did you have a new pipe or do you still run the dpf housing with the platinum honeycomb removed. What sort of power did you get. I know of a golf with 235. What's it done to your fuel economy, it's suppose to improve it by 10% I'd this true.
