I have two keys for my golf, I use one and the wife has the other.

I've changed the MFD settings on the car, so things like it automatically locking all doors when I drive off and it automatically unlocking all doors when the key is removed from the ignition are set.

Now this works great for my key, but not for my wife's. I've put hers in and made sure the settings are the same as mine but still no joy, the car works differently depending on the key being used. I've 'glanced' through the user manual and I can't find anything about how the settings are stored. I assume its per key because I have observed different settings depending on the key used.

Does anyone have a definitive understanding of how the MFD settings relate to the keys or just the car?

    Many thanks.

I have to say my wife and I use the same system, one key is mine one is hers and if I ever used her keys the settings weren't the same as mine (her keys still had factory settings) This bugged me if I took her keys so I did the same thing you did, changed settings with het keys in ignition and it saved the changes. In short I don't know why that didn't work for you as it should have worked. Have you tried doing it again? Could you have accidentially reset the setup? Sorry cant offer better advice.

I've noticed this very same thing - the spare doesn't open the doors in the same way. Which got annoying when I used it the other day to get in to the passenger side - or not, as the case was.

That was the issue that bugged me, double clickingto open the passenger door, but I was definitely able to change the setting on the second key by plugging it in and changing the settings on the Highline computer.
