Hi all.Im lookin for some advice and maybe save myself some serious cash in the meantime. My cars revs are unstable, cuts out from low revs the odd time. When on the move shes perfect.I think it could be the MAF because when i unplug the sensor she turns over perfect, plug the sensor back in and the revs are unstable again.Anyone confirm if i need a new MAF.I could pick 1 up in a scrapyard and fit it myself for €30..If anyone knows the guys on here do...

An AKL engine then. Remove and clean the throttle body. After re-fitting, take it to a garage that has a diagnostic computer. They will need to check the memory for errors (a faulty Air Mass meter will be stored as you disconnected it) and then clear all codes. Then they should go into Adaptation 10, Group 00, read and save, then exit Adaptation and enter Basic Settings 04, Main Group 098, and click Go and then wait 15 seconds whilst the TB adapts. Then exit Basic Settings and Engine 01, turn off and wait 15 seconds. Then start the engine and it should settle out to a good idle which will improve over a few days.

It is a long time since I used 309 (I still have a serial cable somewhere but I have lost the licence) but I think so, there is only one way to find out…
