My fuel filler flap snapped off yesterday - any recommendations please as to best place to track down a replacement fuel filler flap for my 02 Passat Estate. Are they easy to fit?

Alternatively, is it worth having a go with Araldite to repair it? It stays in place as the electrical release catch still works but it is getting caught by the wind and I'm concerned it will snap off on long journey.

    Many thanks

I realise this is w-a-y too late for OP, but for anyone else who finds themselves in the unfortunate position with the fuel flap snapped off, this is what I did (after various attempts finding a replacement):

The whole fuel flap assembly pulls out with removal of only one screw, which is obvious to see.

First, used superglue to glue flap back exactly as it broke off. This alone would obviously never be strong enough, but it gets it in the right position.

I then loaded it generously on the inside with a hot melt glue gun to give it a good strong bed. This could equally have been Araldite or similar I'm sure.

I then built up another little mound of glue melt on the inside, and with fishing line through that, which I looped through a small hole I drilled in the hinge bit. My thinking was that if the 'stressed' glueing ever did come adrift, probably whilst breezing down a motorway, I would at least save the flap dangling on the fishing line to have another go another day. As it happens, it seems well stuck anyway.
