A heads up for everyone on the cost to replace a front heated windscreen, damaged by a stone kicked up in the recent bad weather. Replaced through a national company at the cost of just under £1000.

Thankfully the lease company pick up the invoice and not the driver.

Glad I stuck with my windscreen scraper.

Anyone know insurers' attitudes towards replacing these with the usual small excess?

Had my Jag one replaced, heated etc and the same excess applied as per normal screen. I think so many are now heated that its common place.

I managed to get a look at the paperwork and the Jag screen cost about £800, the insurer was billed something around £270, some markup

Had car since January 8th. Heated Windscreen, Windscreen replaced due to stone chip end of February, 2nd from stones from pothole on M4 being fitted next week. The state of UK roads is appalling.

Got up early today, and put on heated windscreen, 10 mins later no change, Me thinks they might have forgotten to connect the heater plugs. Glass company didn't know what to say as they realise they may have to take it out and replace it.
