Hi all, firstly I would like to thank those of you who gave me good advise on the car I was thinking of purchasing.

Well, bought the car, 2.0 Sport, Denim blue Pearl effect - oh yeah!!
Got it from deep down south to bring back up to Lincoln and the Engine warning light came on . So day 1 and the RAC man is already having a look at it. Cooincidentally the oil fill me up Dis came on on my way back...I know, out of all the things I checked, I forgot to do the oil
10 miles later the warning light came on. Unfortunately he was unable to connect his system up..IT probs?? He did state that the AA had better, more reliable equipment hooked directly into their vans though. Yeah, thanks for that.

So day 2 it goes into Lincoln Audi, several fault codes stored in the memory, which were cleared and was a 'Little unresponsive possibly due to Lambda rep' and 'Readings weaking off mixture' fault showing. I did notice that it was a little sluggish getting to 60 but stoopidly put it down to it being a big car with only a 2.0 lump in it. And I have now only just noticed that they did not give me the print out of the codes..bugger!! (been out of the country for two weeks!) Will chase that one up.

As I am now into day 4 of full ownership what I would like to know is,
Can I go down the route of disconnecting the MAF to see if its that, or does that come with a separate fault code?

How much am I looking at to replace the Lambda (eurocarparts.com??)

Need a single 19"" RS 5 arm alloy for the spare - anyone selling one??

Only came with 1 key fob. Have seen numerous uncut ones for sale on ebay, is it a case of buying one off there, then getting it coded by Audi? Any cheaper alternatives to getting a spare key? Bog standard one at least??

I have now noticed bubbling on the driver rear arch, 12 years galvanised warranty apparently - car is a 2002. Any experience of whether Audi will do that for me, as it hasn't got full MD service?

Blimey!!! why did I buy this car!!!! you all must be thinking...me too...until I sit in it.

I appreciate I've put lots of Q's down, but just want the car to look and be its best.

    Open to light hearted abuse.....

    Thanks

    I J

maf doesn't always leave a fault code, so you could try disconnecting.

Thanks Jak, what effect, if any, will disconnecting the maf do? Is there something specific how it will run without the maf or is it just a case of 'see if it runs any different' and there's your answer type thing??

If it runs better when disconnected, renew. If it's no better then it's not the maf. New key for a B6 from audi only-approx £100. It gets coded by computer link to audi in germany. GEKO-i think it's called.
