Hi all, I need to change the rear wheel bearings on my 1995 A4 1.8t.
Can anyone tell me if this a difficult job and will I need any specific tools etc?,will I need to use a press?.
Any links or tips would be appreciated.

No special tools really but you do need some varied tools. They are Taper Roller bearings so easy enough to do. Knock-out the tracks etc. You will need ABS rings and dont forget grease seals and fresh grease for the bearings.

The Allen Bolts which hold the Caliper to the hub can be difficult to remove, so a bit of WD40, and a good Allen Key and extension needed.

yeah what he said, i done one side last week and took the other side to my mate in a garage cos it wasnt as easy as i first though, REMEMBER TO PUT THE ABS RING BACK ON if your fittig new discs, just make sure you get the bearing seating out without damaging them and you will need something the same size to tap the seating back in, i think the bearings come with the seating as a set right??? cos you should mix new bearings with old seats

Be careful when you put the disc back on, the distance between the ABS ring and the sensor are correct, otherwise ABS light will come on every now and then.(thats a MOT fail).
When you put the discs on make sure the disc is properly in its place all the way in and the big nut is tightened properly. rotate and pull/push the disc and see if there is any play. otherwise ABS ring will damage the sensor.
just telling you from my experience.
