Annoying and problematic issue with a VW Golf 1.4S Cluster...

    As you can see,

The Digits are never fully displayed, further more the rev counter is even more puzzeling as that only works when it desires, the two digits are sometimes obscured...Was wondering if anyone else has seen this before?

The 'Battery' Light never comes on when putting the key in the ignition (Like the others would), however the rest of the dash lights do. The clock should read 98817 and 578.7.I have seen the Cluster i need on eBay for around £40-£60. I would also imagine an Auto Electrician could also transfer the mileage over to a new cluster?

So i am looking towards getting the entire cluster replaced....is this something an auto electrician might be able to do? I really don't wish to take the car to VW.

    Further Information:

    Make: VW
    Model: Golf 1.4
    Engine Code: AHW

    Suspected Part Number: 1J0 919 911

    Many Thanks

    Cammers
