My petrol Audi A4 did not start yesterday and the Red Brake sign comes on in the panel. Bleeps thrice and stays on and the car wont start. Can someone advise why it wouldn't start?

Turn the lights on, try starting the car, if the lights dim you may have a dying battery

That will be difficult to monitor on my own and in day light as I wont be able to notice the dimming of lights on starting the engine.

The exact same happened to me on friday 19th too! Flat battery was the cause, the clock went back to 01.01.2000 aswell. Had it replaced and the fault code reset, all electrics reset and an alternator test (13.4v so ok) all for £60 at local Vag indie
