    I have a 97 golf vr6 wanting to know if any easy way to polish it up but leave it on the car as i dont really have tools to remove

    i have been on it for a couple of hours with rough sand paper and fine wet and dry and using autsol but its taking forever also hard to get into the grooves

    any help welcome cheers

    i use a sealey multi tool, rather like a dremel for jobs like this. you need plenty of sanding rolls for it, and about a week off. its a long job to do properly, and half a job look worse than nothing. only when you have polished up a manifold do you appreciate why companies charge so much to do it. basically get a flat finish with the dremel, then carry on by hand with the wet n dry, until it shines. some clear engine laquer will keep it shining for longer.
    for larger surfaces where you can get access, i use a da sander.
    Audi 80 tdi avant with 360,000 miles...

    well here it is not quite finished, goin to mask off all hard work and spray between grooves etc withgloss black engine paint, but all done started with rough paper and worked upto 1200 wet and dry grit paper arm is killing me! but happy with end result just got to do the sraying and clean up engine bay now lol
