I have just bought a golf TDI 90 BHP and beginning to wish I hadn't, after searching the net for answers I found this site can anyone help?

The car runs well under load but on braking to a stand still the car begins to judder for a few seconds after stand still then rectifys itself. A full service has been done not VAG, fuel filters changed to no avail.
Been plugged into a diagnostic fault shows boost presure control valve, does anyone know what this is, what does it do and do you think it will solve my problem.

.... It is a valve which controls the pressure within the turbo. If it is faulty it either means excessive pressure or not enough. I would certainly get this replaced/repaired as I am sure it cannot be helping

    Welcome too.

Sorry, it was only a guess. I know little about turbos on diesels, though the principle is the same as petrol. I have no idea on the VW where it is

Hopefully somebody a little more knowledgeable than me will add to this thread.
