Why can you not use the key in the lock to open the door?

Try some lube in the door lock as they stick due to lack of use and it's clockwise to unlock !

you should be able to get your arm up behind the front panel and pull the bonnet cable to open the bonnet you will need to remove the engine tray to do it though and its tight when you feel the cable give it a good tug it is slightly off centre towards the offside i have done it before so if your arms are long enough you can get to your battery that way but your key should unlock the door as the other posters mention

As per other posters the mechanical lock using the key is not dependant on the battery. Suggest you go and try all the locks ie. will the boot lid open. Keep up with the WD40.

Humm, I had a similar problem with another car that was deadlocked, you had to keep the door handle pulled while unlocking with the key, this allowed the car to be opened when the battery was flat. Give it a try unsure if the same procedure works on the Audi
