A6 Avant rear washer

Hi all,
just joined today, as I got a 2002 A6 Avant yesterday, and the rear washer has a problem. It pumps water fine, but not out of the jet on to the window! It all ends up in the boot lid, and then trickles out of the boot lid when I open it. I *hope* it's just a disconnected pipe, but I can't see how to get the trim off the interior of the boot lid to check. Can anybody offer guidance on how to get in there and see please?

Thats a common problem i think. Theres a repair kit available. The connection can corrode away.
To get the trim off, theres a screw inside the handle on the inside, and another under the warning triangle. Then its just a case of tugging it- theres 6 clips holding it on.

Not sure how much the kit is. I searched on google and other audi forums before and found the part number.

If it's a genuine Audi part I should be able to get it through a mate that works at Audi. (Should've just done that first ! lol)

I fixed it yesterday. The only tricky part was getting the trim off. After the two screws came out, I had to use significantly MORE force and leverage than I was really comfortable doing, especially to get the first clip out, but it eventually let go enough for me to see what was going - I never tried to remove the trim completely. It turned out that the end of the hose had a 90degree bend in it which had just popped off the wiper motor unit. It had been held on by a cable tie, which doesn't strike me as a terribly effective way of holding it on. Now I know how to get in there (and how much force is required to do so!) I decided to just fix it 'how it was', so it was just a matter of pushing the hose back on and replacing the cable tie. Time will tell if this is adequate or not...
I will consider glueing it in place if it pops off often.

A note of caution - it may just be the tip that is blocked!! I had a similar problem as desribed above, took the panel off etc etc. Nothing obvious was malfunctioning. Disconnected the hose and that was pumping liquid OK. Just about to give up when i pulled out the black tip from the actual wiper - where the water exits. Just used some needle-nose pliers and gave a firm tug. Tried the wiper without this in place and the fluid came out - yay! Poked and prodded the tip with a needle, wire etc - no success. Found a 50mL syringe, filled it with hot water and attached the wiper tip (it fitted snugly into the end of the syringe) and then pushed like anything. Eventually it gave out and the water came out of the washer tip - must have had a severe blockage. Put the tip back on the wiper tip and bingo - back to normal. Wish i'd tried this before pulling the interior of the boot to pieces!
