    Hi,

Very odd experience tonight. I met up with GolferPete so we could try to enable some more features on his MY2010 B8 with 3G MMI. We connected up VCDS and did the enablement for the hidden menu [5F - Information Electr.]/[Adaptation -10]/Channel 6/Change 0 to 1/Test then Save.

Despite this, the car stubbornly refused to launch the hidden menu when pressing and holding CAR and SETUP for the required six seconds (much longer too - we tried!!!). We rebooted the MMI numerous times, tried switching the bit off and on again - all to no avail.

Just as a sanity check, does anyone else out there have a MY2010 B8 with 3G MMI that has managed this successfully?

    Thanks

    MF.

Yep - it's fine on mine.... although it didn't go first time when I did the lighting the otherday. It worked on the second attempt though.

Press the appropriate function selector button to activate the RADIO menu.
First press SETUP and then RETURN and hold both buttons down simultaneously for approx. five seconds until the display changes.

Thanks for your help last night, albeit to no avail.

I can't remember how we left the
    Information Electr.]/[Adaptation -10]/Channel 6/Change 0 to 1/Test then Save.
setting, but I can confirm that now, when I press SETUP & RETURN that I get an 'Engineer' menu come up, so maybe that's the first part done, it then has options including 'Syste,' which leads to a 'MOST' + a.n.other option.

Am I on the right track?

Thanks A8. This is the Engineering menu, though. We were trying to get the Hidden menu up (CAR + SETUP) so we could enable the battery meter etc.

Pete, you're most welcome! Sorry we couldn't get a positive result. The Engineering menu and the Hidden menu are different things, sadly. Engineering menu seems to be available without VCDS intervention, whereas the Hidden menu only seems to be enabled via VCDS (or not, in your case).

We left 5F Channel 6 set to a value of 1, so in theory the Hidden menu should still be available via CAR + SETUP. It's really puzzling that we couldn't get to it, especially since Scotty reports his works fine.

    Thanks to all that replied.

Just to close this off, Pete and I met up again to give this another go. The Hidden menu was definitely not available at first (despite the bit still being set from last time), so we set the bit to 0 and rebooted the MMI, then set it back to 1 and rebooted again. After this, the hidden menu was available via CAR+SETUP, and we were able to activate the battery meter and get TPMS+ working on his car.

... just to add my thanks to Mark for his perseverance in this matter.

One additional point. My A4 is very sensitive to the exactly simultaneous pushing of the CAR+SETUP buttons, just a fraction off and it was no joy. A successful push is indicated by neither the CAR or SETUP leds illuminating, conversely, any unsuccessful push has an led illuminate.
